Le due righe che accompagnano la sezione Anvma project per spiegare il contenuto di questo blog recitano: è ora di un nuovo tipo di attività, che non riguarda la performance e i risultati, ma la qualità della vità.

Ovviamente Lanza Rebel non è nato ispirandosi a questo incipit, ma se c’è un’attività che incarna questo credo al 100% è proprio il viaggio di Giulia, Ramona e Alexia a Lanzarote: cinque giorni a girare sull’isola a contatto con la natura più incontaminata.

Alexia, Giulia e Ramona si sono conosciute, neanche a dirlo, grazie alla bicicletta. Una incontra l’altra, l’altra incontra l’altra e via così, fino all’idea di partire, per la prima volta tutte e tre insieme. La prima sfida è quindi trovare gli equilibri giusti, cosa non sempre facile quando ogni giorno c’è da pedalare, piantare una tenda e cucinare.

I preparativi sono un po’ last minute, la traccia è opera di Giulia, che si basa su diversi consigli e spunti per ottenere un percorso che raggiunga l’esigenza che tutte e tre condividono: immergersi nella natura e uscire dalla città, essere in autonomia e privilegiare principalmente strade sterrate.

We’re pretty sure that Lanza Rebel wasn’t born inspired by our incipit, but we can’t find a project that embraces such a statement more than Giulia’s, Ramona’s and Alexia’s trip to Lanzarote. Five days cycling around the island in touch with the most unspoiled wild nature.

It goes without saying that Alexia, Giulia and Ramona got to know each other thanks to the bike. One met the other, the other met the latter and the group formed. It was a matter of weeks before deciding to embarque in a cycling adventure together. The first step was to find the right balance in the group – which is not easy when you ride all day long, you place a tent and you cook in the wild.

They get ready in a rush. Giulia makes the route after asking for advice from friends. The result is a route that meets everybody’s deepest need: get into nature and get out of the city, be self-sufficient and use off-road pistes when possible.

Le prestazioni non contano, si viaggia per il fatto di voler viaggiare. Per fare “il mestiere del vento”, direbbe un vecchio gruppo folk italiano. Vento che tra l’altro, a Lanzarote, è tra le sfide principali, tanto da dover costringere Ramona, Alexia e Giulia a modificare il percorso per evitare le raffiche a più di 100km/h della costa più esposta dell’Isola.

Gli imprevisti sono parte dell’avventura. Oltre il vento anche il mare può giocare la sua parte, come quella notte in cui la marea costringe Ramona a spostare la tenda dalla spiaggia. E poi la pioggia, che scombina i piani di una serata in tenda. Molto spesso è la natura a mettere le regole e a presentare le sfide, anche perché non siamo abituati ad averci troppo a che fare. 

Proprio questo è uno dei messaggi e degli obiettivi di Lanza Rebel. Far vedere e conoscere l’ambiente che ci circonda, far scoprire il mondo che viviamo, confrontarsi con gli elementi naturali. Dicono le ragazze che ce ne stiamo dimenticando ed è importante riappropriarsene, per tutti. Non serve essere forti e non servono delle grandi prestazioni. Tutti possono fare un’esperienza come Lanza Rebel: basta un po’ di spirito di adattamento e una grande voglia di stare bene.

Anche se la ragione è ancora tutta da scoprire, chi fa queste cose sa che l’avventura crea dipendenza. Per questo anche Giulia, Ramona ed Alexia non hanno fatto in tempo a tornare che stanno già pensando al prossimo viaggio, anche se non vogliono rivelare ancora quello che hanno in mente. Ma in fondo cosa importa? Conta molto più lo spirito che il luogo, perché l’avventura può essere anche fuori dalla porta di casa.

Wind, as matter of fact, in Lanzarote is the toughest challenge of all. So Ramona, Alexia and Giulia need to cut a portion of the route to avoid the strongest wind on the most exposed cliff of the Island.

Contingencies are part of the adventure. Not only the wind, but also the sea can play its part and it does, forcing Ramona to run away with her tent in the middle of the night after she camped too close to the beach. The rain joins the party too of course. More often than not, nature sets the rules and presents us with challenges. That’s maybe because we’re not used to dealing with it too much any more in our daily life.

That’s one of the messages of Lanza Rebel. They want to show us the nature that surrounds us, they want us to see how wonderful the world in which we live in is, and how to confront the elements. The girls say we are forgetting these things and we shouldn’t: everybody can achieve what they have. Being strong or fast is not a requirement – everybody can do something like Lanza Rebel. The will to improve your quality of life is already enough.

We don’t know why, but everybody who does such things knows that adventure is addictive. That’s why even Giulia, Ramona and Alexia are already thinking of the next trip. They don’t want to share much about the destination so far, but who cares? The spirit matters much more than the location. Adventure awaits you even at your doorstep, if you like.
